3 Steps to a Longer Life

3 Steps For A Longer Life

It’s Father’s Day and I can’t help but think of what my kids mean to me.

As parents my wife and I sometimes forget how vulnerable our kids really are.

It’s not that they’re not smart or they gravitate toward bad decisions.

They just lack experience.

And it’s all too easy for us to forget how little experience they really have.

Think about it: Kids are exposed to so much more than we were when we were their age.

They have so much more information at their fingertips which makes them much more knowledgeable than we were. And much more vulnerable.

They’re more vulnerable because knowledge does not equal experience.

Driving a car is MUCH different than reading a drivers manual.

Riding a rollercoaster is WAY more fun than a brochure can convey.

And heartaches felt from a high school sweetheart dumping you hurts much MORE than a movie can show.
So many of the people who walk in the doors of our studio all say the same thing:

“I want to be here for my kids when they grow up”

And that hits home.

My heart plummets to my feet when I think about leaving my kids alone to fend for themselves.

How could I protect them and teach them the most important things in life.

I even feel a sense of panic.

I’d need more time.

And that’s why I do what I do.

To help protect the rest of us from leaving our kids too soon.

At Out Run Your Fork Personal Training it’s not JUST about losing weight or increasing energy.

  3. Exercise every day: Get up and get out for 20-30 minutes a day EVERY DAY. Build up the intensity steadily. you can do this by walking slightly quicker, longer or adding a new activity like hiking, biking and resistance training
