My Daughter Got A Job (and how it’s better than yours)

If you’ve been following us for a little while then you know doubt know the story of my 18 year old autistic daughter.

Partial kidney failure at 2 years old, speech delayed until 4 years old, pancreatic failure and resulting Type I Diabetes at age 15…

There’s one thing you’ve probably found to be true about her… nothing stops her.

And nothing stops her from getting what she wants.

She’s relentless.

She wanted to get into a very prestigious school, but they were not accepting applications. She persisted every day for two and a half years to get in… but she got in.

She wanted to get off insulin and the doctors told her it would never happen. She turned her life around, ate healthy and exercised every day. Eighteen months later she was off insulin. (as a personal trainer and nutritionist I was thrilled!)

More recently she wanted to get a job. She interviewed at a few places, but nobody was hiring due to COVID.

She persisted for a year… and then she finally got a job. As a matter of fact, she didn’t just get one job… she got three jobs!

My daughter is proof that if you really want something and you put in persistent effort over a period of time, then you can accomplish almost anything!

If you could take one cue from Kira what would it be?

Would it be the lesson of overcoming adversity?

Or how to be consistent and persistent in the pursuit of your goal?

Maybe you took away how to be absolutely relentless?

Whatever lesson you gleaned from this story take it and act on it.

Do you really want to lose weight? Eat healthy? Feel better? Live longer?

Have you let failure get in your way time and time again?

Remember, you don’t have to make huge changes to your life in order to reach most of your goals. BUT, you need to change the right things, the little things, and then consistently act on those little things each and every day.

If you want more help being consistent with your fitness or nutrition, then drop us a line and let us know you want some help.

As a matter of fact, I’ll give you a free week if you just ask for it.
