Studying for my AFAA Cert

Being a single mom, working full-time, being the designated chauffeur (music and sports, multiplied by 2) social coordinator and teaching 5 fitness classes at my gym all the while trying to get into shape is my “norm” but add studying for an exam onto that list and my head is about to explode! I have been out of school (Rutgers) for over 20 years! I know how to study when teaching my kids the principles of studying, did I say teaching or lecturing? Let’s face it – sometimes it’s a little bit of both. When it comes to applying it to my own life, HA! I have to read and re-read 5 times before I can focus and stop thinking about Laundry, what to make for dinner tomorrow and “Did I write the check for the Field Trip money?” I’m frustrated, I’m tired and usually have a head ache by the time I go to bed… Thank God for spell check or else you might not even be able to decipher my hieroglyphics in this blog. It’s now 10:45 ish. I need to get back to studying but frankly needed an outlet. To all the working parents, especially those of us that do it solo… Stay Strong, I know you feel guilty that you can’t spend the time you want with the kids, (trust me I do too, that and they yank at my heart strings and keep telling me they want to spend time with me ALONE, as if the other one will let THAT happen :)). It’s for a brief period in your life (in the grand scheme of things)… Does that mean I am telling u to skip out on story time, or opt out of tucking the babies in bed? NO WAY, you might just have to do the abridged version for now. Good Luck, and Stay Strong! It will get better – I hope… 🙂
